Help of plugin :
A colophon is the printer's inscription at the end of a book: the device, the
place, the date, the hand that made it. This plugin replaces RPG Maker MZ's
save and load screens with a SHELF OF PRINTED LEAVES — one leaf per slot,
each one generated from what that save actually contains.
WHAT DECIDES A LEAF
the device what the run has mostly BEEN doing, and how far it has come
the paper where the save was made
the binding how far into the work the player is
the handling playtime, as folds, foxing and a turned corner
the house the project's own vocabulary — its ink AND its typography
the register the company, as a row of small marks at the foot
the collation level, battles and paces, printed as a statement
Four of those move WITHIN a single playthrough, which is the whole design
problem: the six files a player owns are usually six moments of one run, so a
screen that keys off the party or the game title draws one picture six times.
INSTALLATION
Drop all five files into js/plugins and turn them on. Any order works — every
file resolves its siblings at first use, so the alphabetical order the Plugin
Manager produces when you drag the folder in is fine.
COMPATIBILITY
Colophon REPLACES the presentation half of Scene_File — its create, start and
selection methods — and leaves the save and load machinery entirely alone:
Scene_Save.executeSave, Scene_Load.executeLoad, DataManager.saveGame and
DataManager.loadGame are untouched, so autosave, save slots, and any plugin
that changes what a save CONTAINS keep working.
It extends DataManager.makeSavefileInfo (saved original, called through) to
add one `colophon` block to the header. A save made before Colophon was
installed has no such block; those load and draw correctly, with an
unattributed imprint and no collation, because inventing figures for them
would be a lie.
It will NOT co-exist with another plugin that also replaces Scene_File's
presentation — one save screen at a time is all there is room for.
TERMS OF USE
Free for use in commercial and non-commercial RPG Maker MZ projects. Do not
redistribute the plugin files themselves. Credit is welcome, not required.

How far into the work the run is decides the binding. Playtime shows as foxing, thumbing, folds and a turned corner. What the run has spent its time doing decides the printer's device struck in the middle, and that device matures as the run does.
45 entities were authored by hand: 15 devices, being 5 families at 3 progress variants each, plus 8 papers, 6 bindings, 5 states of handling, 6 register marks and 5 houses. Every leaf is drawn by code, so the package contains no PNG and no atlas.
It replaces the presentation half of Scene_File only. Scene_Save.executeSave, Scene_Load.executeLoad, DataManager.saveGame and DataManager.loadGame are untouched, so autosave and any plugin that changes what a save contains keep working. Saves made before installation load correctly and draw with an unattributed imprint.
Five files, drop them all in js/plugins, any order.
